Hello, I just recently purchased a 2005 grand prix gxp.

On my way to back from work a couple of days ago I noticed a "Squeaking" noise coming from under the hood. It sounded like a pully had a bad bearing or somthing of that nature not too loud but not entirly unnoticeable. It only sqeaks when it is in neutral or in park never when in gear. It only squeaks when the transmission temperature is about 170+. Fluid looks clean. No leaks.

Also on my way to work today the display said "check gas cap" or something to that nature, so I unscrewed it and rescrewed it multiple times and it did not go away. I poped the hood to check the oil and see if the car is still doing good (parinoa), when i got back in I noticed the check engine light was on. I got home ran my OBD ii scanner on it and it did nothing, did not throw me a code, did not clear the code, it read as it had no codes. Tried another gas cap from my other car, nothing changed. The scanner is a obd ii 1996+ and the handbook had a 2001 copyright on it.

One more thing, When I am cruising and I want to accelerate just a little bit I tap the gas down slowly and the rps drop with a little bit of "Shuttering" "hestiation" but then its fine. Is that from DOD or my transmission starting to go? But If I press down about 50%-100% throttle it downshifts just fine and pulls smoothly. ( this happens in Tapshift and D)

Disable DOD and see if the shuttering occurs. That would tell you if DOD is culprit.

As far as EVAP system goes: The vent solenoid may be failing. This will usually cause a DTC though. Get a brand new gas cap and try that first.
It's a CUMMINS Dodge not a Dodge Cummins
