Fvck em!
Report it. File the claim. If and IF something happens to your car you know exactly who it would be. They already have a name. So it's not hard to out two and two together and realize the clowns who hit it are the ones who vandalized it.
I really hate people who have. I respect for other peoples property. If your car was a pos then maybe.but even then it's YOUR car not theirs. So damage one way or another sucks. I know you spent a ton of time making that thing nice. Make em pay.
Their car is obviously recognizable. If something happens its. It hard to find that POS and bust It up lol
Report it, screw them. If you dont, they will continue to do this bc they know they can intimidate people and get away with it. If you had a beater I could see just letting it go, but you dont. I would have called the Police then and there and reported it as a hit and run. It is your car and your life, dont let someone else run it. And like others have said, if something does happen to your car, the police will have a pretty nice lead especially with those threats.
Definitely report it. If they come at you that's even more against them. If they touch you that is light assault, if they attack you its aggravated assault, if they have anything that can be considered a weapon then its aggravated with a deadly weapon and you have the M.O. already.
File the report, they probably won't even bother, and if they do just be prepared, keep a small weapon in the car (bat, tire iron, something that you can legitimately have in your possession for defense should the worse happen). They deserve what they get... Do it.
Concealed...and carry...safety off, wanna make a $20 bet they wouldn't ding another car...especially yours.
I'm sure they are just a bunch of white trash, high school drop outs who flip burgers at McDonalds or process your sh1t at the water treatment plant...so even though they dented your door, remember...karma is a b1tch...they'll get what's coming to them, they always do.
CCW is always a good idea regardless.
Thanks for the support guys. I had my knife on me but like I said I'm not trying to fight anyone. It didn't even cross my mind to pull it because then they could have reacted and pulled a knife or even a gun, and I also would have been charged with brandishing a weapon. I've been talking about getting my CCW for a while now, this has convinced me that I need to. It still wouldn't have been ok for me to pull a gun on these guys unless they came at me first, but they were only making verbal threats.
Anyhow, campus security called me today and said they think they have the guys on tape and they want to me to come in and see if I can verify that it's them. I don't know what it'll lead to but I'm hoping for the best. I also didn't have a chance to pick up the police report today but I'm going to tomorrow. I'm going to get some estimates on getting some PDR done if it's possible, if it's less than $500 it's not worth turning in but we'll see.
Your right, your CCW in that situation would have been pointless.... But if they do try to hurt you in the future. Or purposefully cause harm it would be nice.
Like I said, I already have plans to get my CCW but not because of what just happened recently. Once I get it, I'd hope to never have to actually draw my gun, but it's nice to have the piece of mind.
In that situation, CCW would have been useless. He didn't make any physical advances toward me, and (aside from the fact I'm on campus and wouldn't have been carrying anyhow, but let's pretend it happened off campus for the sake of conversation) had I even lifted my shirt to show that I was carrying, that's a criminal offense on me that would lose me my CCW, and could have severely escalated the situation. Kids do walk around toting guns illegally around where I go to school so one of them could have had a gun or grabbed one from the car, then i could be shot, dead, or dealing with the fact that I had to shoot someone. I mean think about it, if you shoot and kill someone, even in justified self-defense because you were genuinely in danger, you have to live with that, and with their family saying "oh he wouldn't have hurt a fly, you're a monster, etc" and possible future violence toward me or my family.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we shouldn't have CCW because of what could happen. You just have to remember that you better not ever point a gun at someone unless you're ready to pull the trigger, and it better be for a good reason.
Yes, I know these things... I have mine lol....... I also carry one daily for work.
Not much new with the car..Still haven't gotten my dent fixed, every shop wants to fill it and paint it, and I do not want body filler on the car so I'm trying to source a door and see if my insurance will just reimburse the cost of the door shell.
I did pick up a Cobb SF intake. Was about to buy this for $150 when a friend of mine told me he knew someone selling one that was used for 3-4 months for $60. The airbox/heat shield is on the way along with a proper mounting bracket, but here it is installed for now:
The turbo and bypass valve sound awesome. I can be like the cool kids and "crack my blow off valve open" now. The intake doesn't add any power really, some people claim slightly more on the top end but the stock intake is adequate for the stock turbo. Once the heat shield/Cobb air box is intalled along with the fact that I'm still running the factory snorkel the intake will be a "cold air" intake instead of a short ram like it is now.
Did they track down the guys who did it? or has this case gone cold?
Can I also have the dent flavor on my car? Sounds good to me
